Anna & Andrew – A Tasmanian Garden Wedding

Today’s wedding has a special place in my heart; the couple are both very good friends and I was lucky enough to share in their special day.

These two gorgeous people had an amazing wedding full of so much love, laughter and great music.
Anna and Andrew were married on 22 January 2011 at Stonefield in Brighton and matched with wonderfully sunny weather, it was the perfect setting for a garden wedding.

The photographs featured are by Tasmanian photographer, Tony McKendrick and Anna's friend, Sophie Noonan.

Anna tells us all about their wonderful day.

How They Met...

"We were both travelling separately in the UK and ended up working at the same hostel, we hit it off straight away and after developing a solid friendship we realised that we liked each other a little more than that! We haven’t been apart since."

The Engagement...

"Andrew took me and our baby daughter on a picnic to the Botanical Gardens where he surprised me by getting down on one knee and proposing with a gorgeous ring."

The Wedding Day...

"Our very clever and creative friends and family contributed in many ways that made the day very special.

These extra touches included a handmade arbour which was adorned with a vintage doily bunting for us to be married under; a lovely friend loaned us her collection of glass jars for our lolly buffet and Andrew’s grandmother made our amazing wedding cake."

"The reception table decorations were put together with borrowed glass vessels holding succulents that were collected locally and hundreds of white paper cranes were made to hang around the reception room."

"I made my own bouquet and posies for the flower girls and matching button holes for the boys and the roses used were a gift from my neighbour who has a beautiful rose garden.

These are just a few of the special touches that helped to make the day so special."

Wedding Music...

Processional Song - 'Caress' by Cary Lewincamp (played live)

Reception Song - 'Into My Arms' by Mylo

First Dance - 'Let's Stay Together' by Al Green

Wedding Vendors...

Bridesmaid Dresses - Mimosa dresses from Hobart boutique, Luxe.

Celebrant - Jill Holloway.

Music - Cary Lewincamp for the music in the garden during and after the ceremony. Anna and Andrew put the dinner and dancing music together themselves and a friend handled the iPod.

Stationery - Invitations By Emily

Wedding Dress - Henri Josef gown from Bridal Boutique Hobart.

Wedding Rings - Sargisons

Honeymoon...

"Bali and Lombok. A couple of lovely hotels in Bali and my Dad’s house in Lombok. We also escaped for a couple of nights (leaving our daughter with her doting Grandparents) to a very idyllic boutique hotel in Lombok called Jeeva Klui."

Thanks for telling us about your special day, Anna!

p.s - i totally get what you meen about quoting 'friends'. i believe that a 'friends' quote can be applied to every situation in life. some of my favourites are 'pivot' and 'you know, with that goatee, you kinda look like Satan'
