Ben & Ella - A Sunshine Coast Wedding

One of my favourite things about featuring real weddings is sharing all the special details of the couple's day and all the photos full of love and happiness. This wedding is no exception, the bride and groom are so in love and look like they had the time of their lives!

Ella and Ben were married on 18 September 2010 at Lake Weyba in Noosa and held their reception at Verrierdale Hall.

All the photos are by the lovely Sarah Williams.

Ella reflects on their fantastic day on the Sunshine Coast...

How They Met...

"Through mutual friends and nightly happenings in Hobart, Tasmania."

The Proposal...

"A cheeky grin. A drunken smile. A holiday season impulse and courage with no regret."

Wedding Theme...

"Closeness of loves and dears. Understated simplicity and lust."

"We fell in love with a natural aisle of stringy barks that we happened upon on the lake side of Weyba, Noosa. We then sought out and perused floor boards, high ceilings and acoustic relevance of tucked-away halls on the Sunshine Coast until we found a little gem in Verrierdale Hall."

Music...

Processional Song - 'The Wedding Song' by Angus and Julia Stone.

First Dance - "We didn’t have any specific intervals of songs and/or dances. I think the first song we buckled and swayed to was 'First Day of My Life' by Bright Eyes."

Wedding Vendors...

Music - A well researched and collaborative mix-tape!

Bridesmaid Dresses - Witchery

Cake - Ben wanted a CWA cake theme. Our caterers, The Rolling Dolmade graciously accommodated and made us perfect bite-size-lady-worthy-treats!

Celebrant - Leiza Williamson

Photographer - Having attended high school with Sarah’s sister, I was lucky enough to chance upon her photographic talent through the connected internet world. Wanting to keep all design and details of the wedding personal, we contacted Sarah to see whether she would be interested in shooting our wedding. Having not photographed a wedding before, Sarah took some time to mull over the idea before thankfully agreeing! Sarah was at such ease behind the camera, with guests commenting how wonderful it was to have her snapping moments behind the wedding scenes. She is one of the most gracious, beautiful ladies we have ever met and we are so lucky she took a chance and film-leap on us.

Wedding Dress Designer - Lady Petrova

Wedding Ring Designer - Wedding bands belonged to Grandparent’s. Engagement ring designed by Bride, sculpted by Tasmanian jeweller, Natasa Milenovic.

Honeymoon...

Ben and Ella honeymooned in Kota Kinabalu in Borneo, staying at the Gayana Eco Resort.

  1. Wow, I definitely love the light and straightforward attire of the couple. Add that to the woodland background and we have a real winner here. Thanks so much for sharing.
